Presentation
The International Society for Feminist Philosophy and Queer Theory (ISFPQT) brings together people engaged in feminist philosophy and queer theory research. The Society brings together several disciplines and critical traditions and aims to develop and spread works in Gender Studies, Feminist Theories and Epistemologies, Queer Theory, Trans Studies, Postcolonial and Cultural Studies, and Marxist Philosophies and Critical Theory. The Society is based on knowledge, methodologies and theoretical practices sharing principles. It intends to set up a fully democratic scientific space of exchange that will take different situations and temporalities of intellectual creation and research into consideration.
Activities
- The Society publishes the Comment S’en Sortir ? (CSS) journal twice a year. CSS is a free access e-journal: http://commentsensortir.org/. The journal is managed by an Editorial Board, assisted by an appointed Review Board, and supported by a Scientific Committee made up of acknowledged researchers.
- The Society organizes a biennial International Congress to enable ongoing researches within the field of Feminist and Queer Theory, Epistemology, and Philosophy to meet and confront.
- The Society awards two prizes: the Sarah Kofman Prize rewarding a researcher whose work significantly contributed to the development of Critical Feminist and Queer Theories. This prize will be awarded during the International Congress; the Roberte Horth Prize will be rewarding two particularly innovative articles by young researchers. These articles will be published in CSS journal’s “Award-winning article” section.
- The Society publishes its activities and displays bibliographic resources on its website.
